My boys - and food

Jeremie LOVES fish - I mean, he LOVES to EAT fish - not fish fish...:)

Rich LOVES to fish fish and eat fish!

Rich and our friend John from Tahiti went fishing yesterday (I'll post some photos separately) and got HEAPS of beautiful fish.

So guess what was on tonight's menu? You guessed it: Tahitian raw fish salad - a family favorite and rare treat!

PLUS - thinly sliced raw fish with a little olive oil and salt with green onions.

Here are some photos - Jeremie took close to 40 photos of the prepared fish before we ate it!!! Does that tell you something?!! The first one is the "Poisson cru" (Raw or marinated fish salad) de Tahiti! YUMMMMMMYYY!!!

Shayden does NOT love to eat fish or anything else for that matter. It's actually really a problem and his weight at 16 months is that of a 7-month-old! We've been trying everything to get him to eat, except leave junk food out on the floor for him to discover (courtesy of Leilani!)
Today he was really quiet for a long time. We were thinking that he was playing with the Duplos, when Leilani checked on him and saw him like this:

We may have found THE food for Shayden?! Or just need to let him eat on the floor as he "accidentally" finds some food?!

So, I just tried to leave a comment, but it disappeared, who knows where it went. When Noah was about that age, we had trouble with him eating too. He ate so well up until about 14 months (didn't help that it was at that time that we went to Fiji), anyway, he only would eat bread, cheese and bananas. It was so frustrating. Luckily he wasn't underweight or anything. Even when we went to America, the land of good food, he hardly would eat anything! Well, shortly upon returning to NZ we realized that we were (kinda half intentionally to make up for his not eating, and half not realizing it) giving him so much milk (a full bottle) before his 2 naps a day and before bed and sometimes at other times int he day that he was filling up on milk. When we cut his milk back, a crazy thing started to happen...he started to eat, A LOT more! And a good variety of foods as well. Anyway, though you've probably thought of that or its not even an issue at all, I thought I'd just mention it cause we just never thought about it, but when we pulled back on the milk, he stepped up his eating!! Other than that, we always found cheese to be a most popular food. :) Still is, he begs for cheese! :) Love ya!! Trena
